Three-time Director’s Guild Award nominee, Real Time with Bill Maher director Paul Casey opens up about his big break, Saturday Night Live and his cocaine problem that brought him to his second chance.

ANT tells the story of how he met Paul at rehab: being forcibly carried in, swearing, with two black eyes from a fight with the police. Paul talks about going back to work and telling the truth about who he really was?and who he is now.

Paul Casey has been in the entertainment industry since the 1980’s, directing shows like Real Time with Bill Maher, Dr. Phil, Divorce Court, Time Rome on Showtime, The Dating Game, and The Newlywed Game. He has worked with many celebrities like Donny and Marie Osmond, Larry David, Maury Povich, and Kathy Griffin.

Paul is a 2017 Director’s Guild Award nominee for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Variety/Talk/News/Sports – Regularly Scheduled Programming for his work on Real Time with Bill Maher. He was nominated for this award in 2015 and 2016 as well, and was a Daytime Emmy nominee.

His advice for people who want to break into directing: “When you get your chance, be quiet, work hard, move quickly, and smile.”
